Topic: Innovation and Creativity

A PhD in Marketing from Wharton, Pennsylvania & an MBA from Northern Illinois University, Rajeev teaches New Product Development in the Graduate School of Business (GSB) at Columbia University in New York. An Editorial board member of the most prestigious ‘Journal of Interactive Marketing’, he also holds an Engineering degree from BITS, Pilani, India.
As a Professor since 1991 at Columbia (GSB), Rajeev teaches a popular elective on techniques for new product development to executives and MBA students. This tenure of Rajeev was preceded by a distinguished career stint at Graduate School of Business, University of Pittsburgh from 1984 till 1991. Rajeev has also held the Associate Editor (Marketing) position on the board of Management Science, arguably one of the most notable Management journals in the American continent.

His paper with D. Lehmann & J. Pae titled ‘Incubation Time’ (Journal of Product Innovation Management) has been quoted as being one of the most path-breaking product development researches of recent times. He has written extensively on methods for new product design and has developed techniques for evaluating the success of new products in the early stages of their development. These techniques are now widely used for product development by leading companies across the world. He is a popular speaker and sought after consultant in the United States & Europe on innovation strategies & new product development. Prof. Kohli grew up in New Delhi, India and has just enough talent to obsessively follow cricket.
